TUNISIA - The smallest country in North Africa, which is full of history due to its strategic position that laid it open from time immemorial to influences from other lands, and in the course of three thousand years it saw the passage of Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Arabs, Turks, Spaniards and finally the French, all of them leaving evidence of their presence; and in our own day Tunisia is still a bridge between the Western, the African and the Islamic worlds.
In addition to the traces of a long and eventful past, Tunisia is rich with its beautiful beaches extending endlessly along the Mediterranean and its guaranteed sunshine, the fertile country in the north, the lonely hill and desert regions, the picturesque towns and villages of the interior
Day 1: Arrive Tunis – GAMMARTH:
You will be met, assisted and transferred to your Hotel in SIDI BOU SAID
Check in, dinner and overnight at Hotel EL MOURADI GAMMARTH 5*
Day 2: GAMMARTH – CARTHAGE –SIDI BOU SAID – GAMMARTH:
Morning at leisure (time for rest to enjoy the beauty of the beach or thalasso & Spa treatment in the Hotel)
Lunch in the Hotel (at leisure)
After lunch, meet with the guide and the driver to visit the Carthage roman site
Afterwards, visit the village of SIDI BOU SAID. The entire town is located on top of a steep cliff, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The view from Sidi Bou Said is absolutely phenomenal, the streets of Sidi Bou Said, most of which are quaint cobbled streets, are lined for the most part with souvenir shops, cafe’s, and art shops. The entire town has an intense feel of artistry and craftsmanship. From the terrace of a café, discover the magnificent panorama including the small marina and the whole area of Tunis.
Enjoy dinner al fresco in restaurant “ Aux Bon Vieux Temps”
After dinner, back to overnight in HOTEL EL MOURADI GAMMARTH 5*
Day 3: GAMMARTH –BARDO –MEDINA of TUNIS –GAMMARTH:
Drive to the Bardo museum (closed Monday) with the world greatest collection of Roman mosaics. The Bardo Palace was built by the Turkish Bey in Andalusia style with beautiful ceilings of carved wood and stucco.
Then depart to the Medina of Tunis where you smell the ancient and authentic fragrance of the ancient TUNISIA. You will discover souks covered with brick archways, white alleyways and high windows decorated with wrought iron scrolls. A variety of local and handcraft article and products can be found here.
Enjoy lunch in a Typical Tunisian restaurant famous by its finest and unique dishes. Restaurant “DAR EL JELD”

Day 4: TUNIS –HAMMAMET:
Depart to Hammamet. Sunbathing, al fresco dining and late-night discos are a way of life in Hammamet, the Tunisian St-Tropez. Located on the fertile Cap Bon Peninsula, about 40 miles south of Tunis, the bayfront resort is surrounded by verdant hills and citrus groves. When not basking on Hammamet Beach, browse the markets for local pottery or wander through the medina (old city) with walls that date to 1500.
Arrival and visit the ancient Medina and the Fortress.
Lunch at restaurant “Chez ACHOUR”
Depart to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure, to enjoy the hotel facilities,

Day 5: HAMMAMET -KAIROUAN –SOUSSE- HAMMAMET:
Departure to KAIROUAN, spiritual capital of Islamic Tunisia, first holly city in the Maghreb, named the three hundred Mosques city and one of the most visited cities in the country.
Visit the souks and the bazaar of famous Kairouan carpets, jewel of Tunisian handicrafts, the Great Mosque - JAMAA SIDI OQBA - the oldest Islamic religious site in the western Islamic world.
Visit the Barber's Mausoleum or Sidi Sahib, also named the three doors Mosque, and built in XVIIth century in memory of Sidi Sahib, companion of the prophet Mohammed. Visit BIR BARROUTA and the aghlabythes pools.
Lunch in the Tunisian Typical restaurant “Dar Zarrouk”.
Then departure to Sousse, third city in Tunisia and one of the most important tourist areas in the country. Visit the MEDINA where the high fortress which construction started in 859. The museum hosts an important collection of Punic Roman mosaics of extraordinary artistic quality. Then explore the Ribat and its Byzantine fortresses.
Back to Hammamet.

Day 6: HAMMAMET -day at leisure
Day at leisure (to enjoy hotel facilities, lunch at leisure, time for swimming at the beach)

Day 7: HAMMAMET - AIRPORT TUNIS CARTHAGE:
Transfer from the hotel to the Tunis Carthage Airport for you flight home
