Arrive in Beijing and transfer to hotel
On arrival in Beijing you will be met by your private driver and guide and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day is free to relax at leisure and explore the city at your own pace. (No meal)


Beijing day tour with Panda Zoo, Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City.
You also have the option of visit the Chairman Mao Mausoleum where you can see the great leader’s body lying in state (not suitable for young children). (B)


This morning head out to the Mutianyu and take a cable car ride up to the Great Wall where the kids will have the opportunity to fly a locally made kite. After exploring the Great Wall take an exciting toboggan ride (optional) back down and head back in to the city.

In the afternoon take a rickshaw tour around the Hutongs (ancient back alleyways) where you will join a local family for tea and learn about their daily lives.

In the early evening take in the "Legends of Kung Fu" show, regular seats. (B)


Kung Fu lesson at Temple of Heaven then train to Xian.
Make an early start to visit the stunning Temple of Heaven where you will see a microcosm of Beijing life, where the elderly can be seen playing Mah Jong and ballroom dancing. The young ones can take a private Kung Fu lesson on the steps of the Temple, you can also take in a tea ceremony at one of the small tea shops in the grounds.

After lunch transfer to the railway station for high speed train to Xian, home of the famous Terracotta Warriors, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B)


In the morning visit the excavation site of the Terracotta Warriors and learn all about their fascinating history and how they were discovered by a local farmer digging a well just a few decades ago!

In the afternoon visit the ancient mansion of the Gao family, where the kids can enjoy making clay models and a take in traditional Shadow Puppet Show. (B)


Morning cycling trip along the ancient walls of Xi’an city past the ancient cannons (it’s not good for cycling in winter) and Shaanxi Provincial Museum (closed every Monday). After lunch at a local restaurant take the short flight to Shanghai—China’s largest and most cosmopolitan city. This evening enjoy a cruise along the Huangpu River from where you get an excellent view of both the Bund and the modern Pudong areas of the city. (B. L. D.)


Spend the day exploring the city with your guide, including the Yuyuan Gardens, the Children's Palace and the Shanghai Aquarium. In the early evening enjoy the stunning Era Acrobat show - in our opinion the best show of its kind in the world! (B. L. D.)


You will have a full day at leisure to explore the city by yourself or to do last minute shopping.

Alternatively, you could choose to take a half day tour to Zhujiajiao Ancient Water Town. (B)


Transfer to the airport on the Maglev train (fastest train in the world) - your luggage will meet you there by car. Depart China to next destination. (B)
