OVERVIEW

Venture to the far north-west corner of Argentina and you will be rewarded with spectacular natural desert landscapes under intense blue skies. Delve into indigenous local cultures and find a unique corner of the country that offers such a contrast to the better-known destinations to the east and south. This region is a panorama of beautiful mountains and lakes inhabited by a wide range of species of birds. It is also home to the Socompa, the Llullaillaco and the Tridente Volcanoes, which are all currently inactive. To the east lies the Andean Mountain range, acting as a breathtaking backdrop.

The province of Salta, referred to by its residents as "La Linda" meaning "The beautiful one", is in an area made up of deep valleys, each with their own tropical climate. The landscape here is one of natural beauty offering activities such as hang-gliding, trekking, rafting, fishing and walking, to name a few. Alternatively you may choose simply to breathe in the natural beauty of Salta's flora and fauna or relax in luxurious surroundings at a winery.
