OVERVIEW

For some, its history of political turmoil has removed Bolivia from their holiday list. However, those who go are rarely disappointed.

Rather, it is hard to find many who are left unmoved by the magic, warmth and charm of South America's Andean jewel.

Bolivia's geographic location is such that it can claim to be one of the most diverse nations in Latin America. It is a country where the lofty Andes fall away to the lowland majestic jungle. To the east lies the Amazon, an area of the world whose magnificence needs no introduction. To the west lie the Andean mountains, rich in culture and beauty. Lake Titicaca, the world's highest lake is certainly a highlight of any holiday in Bolivia. With its alluring blue water and owing to its massive size, you need to be reminded that it is a lake and not a beautiful calm ocean. Within the lake, ancient Inca islands, namely the Island of the Sun and the Moon, offer a great opportunity to connect with history, whilst surrounding you with rich colour and beauty.
