DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN BOSTON

Arrive in Boston and transfer on your own to your hotel. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing in your room or exploring the city. You may wish to take an Old Town trolley tour, an excellent way to see the Boston's impressive sights. Meet your tour manager in your hotel lobby at 6:00 pm for a brief meeting. DAY 2 - BOSTON SIGHTSEEING / SEA SHORE TROLLEY MUSEUM / KENNEBUNKPORT, MAINE

This morning, enjoy a guided city tour of Boston's historic sites. Known as the “Cradle of Liberty,” the city of Boston played a crucial role in the history of the United States. See the major sites on a 2-hour tour of the town, and enjoy lunch on your own at Quincy Market. This afternoon, we travel by motor coach to Kennebunkport, Maine. Step back in time using Streetcar transportation. Overnight Hampton Inn & Suites, Well, ME(B)

DAY 3 - FRANCONIA NOTCH, WHITE MOUNTAIN, KANCAMAGUS HWY, CONWAY SCENIC RAILROAD

Start the day on the famous Kancamagus Hwy in the White Mountain National Forest, and enjoy a relaxing drive to North Conway for an excursion aboard the Conway Scenic Railroad. This spectacular train excursion takes you through some of New Hampshire's most stunning fall scenery. Later today, travel by motor coach into the White Mountains to Franconia Notch State Park. There will be photo stops at Echo Lake and the Old Man in the Mountain historic site. Overnight in Lincoln, NH (B, D)

DAY 4 - VERMONT MORSE MAPLE SUGARWORKS - BEN & JERRY ICE CREAM/ STOWE, VT

This afternoon, cross the Connecticut River and enter Vermont, the most rural state in New England. See a kaleidoscope of colors in leaves of yellow, orange, red and green. The vivid foliage compliments the picturesque farmlands, charming villages, and covered bridges on the way to Stowe, a mountainous ski village in the heart of Vermont. Visit Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, with free time for lunch on own in Montpelier, Vermont's quaint capital city. Enjoy a tour of the Ben & Jerry Ice Cream factory before overnighting in Stowe, VT. DAY 5 - VERMONTER TO BRATTLEBORO / MARK TWAIN & HARRIET BEECHER STOWE HOUSES / MYSTIC, CT

This morning, board Amtrak's Vermonter in Waterbury Station. Brilliant foliage, gently falling leaves, and rambling stone walls provide the backdrop of natural beauty you'll find today as you travel the length of Vermont. Ride along the spine of the Green Mountains, where marble is mined and 150,000 gallons of maple syrup is harvested annually. After lunch in Brattleboro, we'll travel by coach to Hartford, Connecticut to visit to the Mark Twain House & Museum and the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. Overnight Mystic, CT. (B)

DAY 6 - MYSTIC SEAPORT / NEWPORT, RI

The day begins with a visit to Mystic Seaport, a maritime museum founded in 1929 that features tall ships, a re-creation of a 19th-century coastal village, and a preservation shipyard. Next, board the motor coach for a short trip to Newport, Rhode Island, the yachting capital of America and playground of the rich and famous. A tour along Ocean Drive showcases the city's many mansions. Enjoy a tour through The Breakers, the Vanderbilt family's turn-of-the-century mansion, full of lavish furnishings and decor. In the late afternoon, we continue on to Massachusetts' Cape Cod, where we check in at our Hyannis hotel for two nights. Overnight Hyannis, MA. (B)

DAY 7 - CAPE COD CENTRAL RAILROAD / JFK HYANNIS, MA

The morning begins with a narrated tour of the historic Hyannis sites that 34th President of the USA frequented during his family's life on the Cape. There will be free time to shop and enjoy lunch on your own. Be sure to visit the Kennedy Museum. This multi-media exhibit was designed to open a window into the days JFK spent on Cape Cod, not only as President, but as a family man. End the afternoon on a scenic 2-hour narrated shoreline excursion aboard the Cape Cod Central Railroad. Traverse some of Cape Cod's most picturesque countryside, including quaint villages, unspoiled woodlands, sand dunes, cranberry bogs, salt marshes, and the famous Cape Cod Canal. We return to the hotel and enjoy a farewell lobster bake dinner. Overnight Hyannis, MA. (B, D)

DAY 8 - HOMEWARD BOUND

Your New England fall tour comes to an end this morning when you transfer to Amtrak's Boston's South Station or Logan International Airport for your trip home. Transfers will accommodate flights that depart after 1:00 pm and trains that depart after 1:30 pm. (B)
