When to go to Bhutan
The best time to visit Bhutan is from October to May when the climate is mainly dry and sunny, while in December and January snow may block mountain passes and travel is therefore restricted to the western valleys.
The higher parts of Bhutan have pleasant months either side of the rainy season, which lasts from May to September. Days from March to April and October to November are generally warm with less rain, good sunshine and temperatures between 25-30°C (77-86°F). The southern part of Bhutan is tropical and the eastern region of the country is warmer than the central valleys. Nights can get a bit fresh between November and March. Lower parts of the country experience heavier falls and warmer temperatures during the day across this time.
